OUR FIRST ADVENTURE IN MOTORHOME PURCHASING:

After months of touring RV’s in the middle of a pandemic we finally found the perfect one. The only problem, everyone and their brother was also in search for an RV so the wait list was long. We handed over the down payment and put our order in.

What should have taken 4 weeks took 11 and we had to fight for the one we got even though we were the second name on the list. Apparently when you order an Rv instead of you getting the whatever number you are on the list one that comes in, they assign you a vin# which is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. We checked the lot weekly and the model motorhome we ordered came in 3 or 4 at a time and even though we ordered ours before a ton of others they got theirs first. Don’t get me started! I finally blew a gasket and even though our vin# still hadn’t arrived we took possession of the next one on the lot because hellooooo thats how it should go. It’s not like they were custom. They were all the same. Can you say nightmare! Thankfully our sales guy was awesome and he fought with the bosses that be for us.

SHE’S HOME :

So we finally get our new baby home in the driveway and not a moment too soon. You see we really wouldn’t have been in a huge rush to take possession of the RV except we had a trip planned to Virginia. TIm had to go for work and since it was still a global pandemic we didn’t want to fly or eat out in restaurants.

Cue the motorhome. Normally business trips mean that on down time we get to explore the area, and have all our meals out for the time we are there. But with the Rona we wanted our own space where we could sleep comfortably, cook, shower and hang out when he wasn’t working.

We took possession of our new home on wheels literally the day before having to leave for the business trip. That means she had to be cleaned, and packed up all in less than a day. Below is what she looked like when we got her home.

So the above pictures is what she looked like when we picked her up. After the 2 hour walk through where they show you how to work everything she was pretty dirty on the inside. Plus she wasn’t feeling very homey to me.

INSERT THE HOME VIBES:

I had a whole lot of time to come up with some homey plans for our house on wheels since she took an extra long time in getting to us. I know she was brand new but come on, those of you that know me know that I am not a generic kind of chick. So insert the home vibes.

Now we’re starting to look more homey.

TIME TO HIT THE ROAD:

We got her all cleaned, packed up, and homey feeling and we did it in record time. This was a good thing because now it’s time to hit the road where the real adventures begin.

Stay tuned for our first trip out in our little house on wheels. But until then friends, travel and fall in love, adventure awaits ❤️

    1. Julie, I thought the same thing. We have no idea why they assigned each person a vin#. You would think that you would get the incoming stock in the order in which your order was placed. Very frustrating to say the least.
