CLASS A MOTORHOME

First thing is first, finding an RV! Tim and I have been looking at homes on wheels for probably as long as we’ve been married. Living the RV lifestyle to get out of being in New York for the cold winters has always been our retired goal. Every year we head to the local Boat and Rv shows to see what the new rigs look like.

CLASS C MOTORHOMES

The Class A and Class C’s pictured above are just a few of this years motorhomes we’ve taken a look at recently. We’re thinking with normal travel really not being safe these days with the current pandemic situation we may get our RV a little a earlier than we were planning.

Problem is, we still haven’t decided what we want or how much we are willing to spend. Also it seems that everyone else has the same idea because it’s been slim picking.

2019 CLASS C MOTORHOME

My suggestion for anyone that wants to start doing the RV thing is to rent a few different models before you take the plunge and make that purchase. RV’s are pretty expensive, your basically buying a second home or in some cases a first home. So it’s best to be sure that 1- you can handle driving it and 2- have in mind what you expect to get out of it. I’d hate to see someone spend $80k+ and find out in a month that they bought something too big for them to comfortably drive or something that isn’t big enough to actually live in for the necessary time.

38 Foot Tow Behind Travel Trailer

I’ve been showing you actual drivable motorhomes as a means to the RV lifestyle however, a tow behind travel trailer is also an option. The trailer pictured above is quite large at 38 foot so you would need a heavy duty truck to tow her around.

Currently this baby is parked on a piece of land that is on a nice little creek (mostly because she’s a beast to tow). This particular model sleeps 8-10 people having a queen size bed in the back room, a full size bathroom with small tub/shower and 2 bunks in the front room for the kiddos. It also has a kitchen/living room area with a decent amount of counter space. Also In the bathroom of this model there is a hook up for a washer/dryer combo.

PANDEMIC LEADS TO RV SHORTAGE

Tim and I looked at so many Rv’s over the course 2020, unfortunately so was everyone else. With the world being in a global pandemic and everything shutting down everyone was in search of a recreational vehicle. Being in your own space seemed like the safest way to travel (still seems that way with covid counts once again on the rise).

Normally when you go to buy an RV you find the one you like and then start dealing on it. But in todays market the ones you actually got to look at were already sold and there was a back order log a mile long. We eventually found our perfect little house on wheels and put our order in…………… and so the adventure begins.

Stay tuned for our RV adventures but until then, travel and fall in love, your adventure awaits ❤️
